You will need the most current bank statements, W-2’s, and paycheck stubs when applying for a home loan. Sounds very simple but most borrowers slow down the process by not having the needed information available and ready to pass on to their lender. A good best practice is to create a folder and download your documents to save there. For W-2’s store in a safe place (locked file cabinet, safe, etc.) until needed. For other sources of income you are considering including, be sure you have the proper documentation to support the additional income you are stating. Once these items are received by the lender, a pre-approval can be issued pretty quickly.
