Tired of looking at home after home and losing out on the one’s you like to another buyer? If yes, here are a few things you can do so you get the home you want!
- Be specific with your agent on what you want- Tell your agent all the things that are important to you in purchasing your new home. This should include bedrooms, baths, schools, home design (I.e. ranch, 2-story, basement or not, finished or unfinished, yard big or small, swim/tennis, etc…)
- Be sure you know what you can afford and stay in your budget. Note: Lower property taxes can afford you a bit of wiggle room and can help you choosing one home over another if price is the only difference.
- Don’t leave a home you love thinking it will be there tomorrow. Make an offer and move forward especially if inventory is tight in your market.
- Determine if you have the patience and time to do renovations.
- Work with your lender to understand the various loan options available to you based on your needs. For example: If you find a home you love but it needs some renovating, there are loans that could meet your needs.
- Don’t try to low ball a seller and make an offer that doesn’t make sense. Note: Your realtor is your guide in making a smart and fair offer.
- Take a home buyers education class to help you become more savvy with the process.
Good Luck and Happy Buying!!!
