The VA Mortgage loan is a popular benefit for all members of the military, but a surprising number of them seem unsure of its value. A recent survey of 2,000 members of the IRAQ and Afghanistan veterans of America (IAVA) found that only 36% had applied for a VA home loan. When asked why they hadn’t, some stated that the VA loan was not comparable to a conventional mortgage. This is simply untrue.
